Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Overview

GLAMR is a beauty, wellness, tattoo and piercing marketplace that connects clients with local studios and professionals. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions about anything here, please contact us using the details at the end of this page.

GLAMR is operated by Glamr at 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, England. Glamr is the “data controller” for the personal data described in this policy and processes it in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Businesses that take bookings through GLAMR act as separate controllers for the client information they hold in their own diary and records.

What we collect

We only collect information needed to run the service. That may include:

  • Account details: name, email address, and phone number when you create a customer or business account.
  • Booking information: appointments, services selected, preferred staff member, date and time.
  • Location data: area or postcode you enter when searching for studios.
  • Profile content: photos, business descriptions, service menus, and reviews you choose to add.
  • Payment information: handled by our payment provider; we do not store full card details on our servers.
  • Technical data: device type, browser, IP address, and cookies used to keep the site secure and reliable.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide search, booking, and calendar management features.
  • Confirm appointments and send relevant service updates.
  • Display public business profiles, reviews, and portfolio content you choose to share.
  • Improve the platform, fix issues, and keep accounts secure.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers needed to operate GLAMR, such as our hosting and database platform and analytics provider. These providers act on our behalf and are contractually required to protect your data.

Payments made through GLAMR are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives the details needed to take your payment, manage subscriptions, handle refunds, and meet its regulatory obligations. You can read Stripe's privacy notice at stripe.com/privacy.

When you make a booking, we share the details needed to fulfil it (your name, contact details, service, time and any notes you add) with the business you are booking with.

Our legal bases for using your data

Under the UK GDPR we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract: to create your account, take and manage bookings, and process payments.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep the platform secure, prevent fraud, improve the service, and display public business profiles and reviews.
  • Consent: for optional analytics cookies, marketing messages, and access to your device location — you can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: to keep transaction records and respond to lawful requests.

International transfers

Some of our providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum so your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent, which you can change at any time. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete your account and personal data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format (data portability).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. We aim to respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and secure hosting. No online service is completely secure, so we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account details safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of the page. Continued use of GLAMR after changes means you accept the revised policy.
